Supercross BMX Australia factory rider Max Cairns headed up to Canberra for round 5 and 6 of the National Champbikx series. After a slow start to the series Max has been picking up pace and moving rapidly up the Series standings. But it was in rain soaked Canberra where he really hit his stride. There’s something about Max in wet conditions, he always seems to come out on top.
At round 5, in the action packed 16 boys final Max lead the race all the way to the last straight to stay away from a massive crash that claimed half of the field only to be picked off at the finish line and had to settle for second.
Round 6 was rained out after just two rounds of motos and with two firsts Max was declared the winner for the round.
Max now sits in third place in the overall standings with a chance to continue his climb at the final round at Mount Gambier, South Australia later next month.
